Case report: Mycetoma caused by Gordonia soli

Mycetoma is a neglected tropical disease caused by fungi (eumycetoma) or bacteria (actinomycetoma), with high morbidity. Gordonia spp. are gram-positive that have previously been reported to cause mycetoma. Here, we report case of soli (initially misidentified as Nocardia spp.) the etiological agent actinomycetoma in 64-year-old patient. After literature search Cochrane Library, LILACS, SciELO, MEDLINE, PubMed, and PubMed Central databases, concluded this first mycetoma soli. The current highlights importance microbiological diagnosis challenges its management.
